Ball Clay

Ball Clay is a member of Kaolin family. It is renowned for its plasticity and green strength and hence it is widely used in ceramic and non-ceramic applications. Ball clay is a vital component in Ceramic manufacturing. Kaolin produces a very white color when it is fired, but used alone is brittle and weak and must be mixed with ball clay to produce a workable, malleable raw material. Ball clay is used in the manufacturing of Sanitary ware, Tableware, Wall and Floor tiles, Glazes and Engobes, Refractory clays, Construction ceramics, Electrical Porcelain Insulators, etc. Its non-ceramic applications include Construction industry, horticulture, agriculture and amenity industries, adhesives, plastics, sealants, fertilizers, etc. Our standard specification of Ball Clay is given below.
